*Artwork will be unmounted and unframed unless previously discussed and price adapted accordingly. Sizes are just to give a rough guide, let me know if you have a specific size in mind. Prices are for one subject, such as a single portrait. To include an additional subject, such as a double portrait or two dogs, an extra 25% will be added. Prices reflect the amount of time spent on the piece and the cost of materials.

Options available:

Soft Pastel - a really versatile medium, great for human and pet portraits as well as landscapes and flowers. I only use high quality pastels, mainly Unison and Sennelier, on Clairefontaine Pastelmat.

Oil Paint - Oil paintings are wonderful for portraits and landscapes. Paintings will be done on high quality canvas and protected with UV-resistant gloss varnish.

Gouache and fine liner pen - gouache is like a cross-between watercolours and acrylic. Gouache paintings aren’t recommended for portraits (oil painting, pastels or pencil drawings work much better) but gouache can be great accompanied by fine liner for a more illustrative style, which I often use for house portraits.

How to commission a painting

  1. CHOOSE YOUR PHOTO

Choosing the right photo is the most important part! It should be a high quality photo, if you have more than one from different angles, that’s great too. If you aren’t sure which photo to choose, send me a few and we can discuss it together.

4. THE DEPOSIT

The final step of the commission booking process is paying the 50% deposit to confirm your slot. Payments are made by bank transfer. Once the deposit has been paid and we have discussed the final details of what you would like, you will be booked in to my schedule! I will keep you updated on when I start your painting and will stay in close communication with you in case you have any questions.

3. MAKE YOUR BOOKING

Once you have made all your choices and know what you would like to commission, please fill out my contact form with your basic details. I will then get in touch with you to discuss your commission in more detail, including timeframes, any special requirements and your photo options. Please note that commissions can take around a month to complete, let me know if you need it finished by a specific date.

2. SELECT THE SIZE AND MEDIA

Now it’s time to decide if you’d like the painting done in soft pastels, oil paints or gouache/watercolour. My paintings are available in sizes small (A5 or similar), medium (A4 or similar), and large (A3 or similar). Please see my price list to help make your decision.
